Litchfield IL annual route 66 Car Cruise 6/27/09 and side trip to Henry's Ra66it Ranch

Saturday morning my son was looking at pictures and saw us sitting on the Jackrabbit at Henry's Ra66it Ranch in Staunton IL. He then asked if he can go see the bunnies and ride the big one. There were a few carnival rides this year, an antique tractor show, a Big Foot car crushing show, 3 NASCAR cars, a few vendors, and the classic cars. Did I mention it was hot? Charlie saw… Continue

Saturday

Late morning around 11:00 a.m. we headed out for Atlanta to start our day of Garage Sales. First off we went to the newly reopened Palms Grill for lunch, they were busy. D.A.R.E. Ride

Spent yesterday morning cleaning my wife's bike only to run out of time to adequately clean mine, but we left Springfield with about 200 other bikes on a 140 mile (round trip) ride to Lucas Speedway to see the dirt track races. While the races were enjoyable, they seemed to lack something from the spectator viewpoint. You see, years ago I raced Sports Cars and Dirt Track Modifieds. Restore Twin Arrows for Arizona Centennial

The state of Arizona is taking comments on places that show an aspect of Arizona history that should be restored for the centennial in 2012. I think it would be great to restore the Twin Arrows Trading Post and Diner in time for the celebration. If any of you also would like to see the old icon restored you can make comments here:
