Classic Cars and Motorcycles will line the closed lanes of Historic Old Route 66 in Litchfield, Illinois. The festival will also feature a celebration for the 60th Anniversary of the Sky View Drive In theatre, a Rt 66 Hall of Fame member. Food, arts/crafts, live entertainment by The Road Crew, sock hop, swap meet, car cruise to neighboring Rt 66 community, and a double feature at the Sky View Drive In with pre-show tailgate party and music by Tim Session.
The Road Crew plays the music they grew up on. Their shows feature popular upbeat hits from the 50's and 60's sprinkled with light-hearted humor and Route 66 tunes. You may even hear an occasional western song or a little ol' time gospel. Plan to tap your toes and leave with a smile on your face. Hi guys, thanks for fine sounds and hope to be riding through your area soon. Several of our Harley friends have moved to TN and we are already making plans to take the trip back east (along 66 of course). For Cathy and I, it's any excuse to load up our Harleys and hit the road. One of the guys I have to look up in TN is the custom bike builder with my name (Don Gray) .. he's in Hendersonville and I'm hoping he will make me one of his customs. So, "if you ever travel west ... get you kicks" on my part of Route 66 - in Arizona.
The Road Crew - America's Route 66 Band was the opening act for the International Route 66 Festival, August 2-3. Performed on Main Street in Galena, Friday and on Main Street in Joplin Saturday night. Performed for over 15,000 people in Joplin! Their mini-concert at Afton Station that Sunday afternoon was a big hit with visitors. We had a great time on Route 66! Hoping to see everyone in Kingman next year!
