hey Mike - hope you're feeling better - things suck in general. Anyway I wrote a new poem that I thought you'd identify with. It's still only a rough draft I just wrote it - but here it is anyway:
Ellis D. my long lost friend
thought you were the livin' end
we rode the trails, chased the lights
a primetime buzz we saw the sights
my brain shifts gears, my mind ablaze
Moody Blues and Purple Haze
the roads were real, hard and cold
a two wheel rush was ever bold
the pirates came and stole the high
freedom gone - past us by
I still recall the zenith thrill
body melts, grey cells spill
protest waned, challenge of change
landing gear in the rain
now I'm normal - or so I think
smoke a cigar and sip a drink
ride the two lane, catch some rays
and always pray for better days.
