Various Route 66 Interviews now online

Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know that I posted some of the interviews I did with various Route 66 people last summer. Included are an interview with Michael Wallis done at the Route 66 convention in Litchfield last year, A phone interview with Harley and Annabelle Russell and an interview with David Clark. These run about 15 minutes each. I hope you enjoy them.

Shameless plug time...make sure to join me on Sunday nights at 7 Eastern, 4 Pacific on www.bounceradio.net.… Continue

OK so it's been forever since I last posted here/2008 Route 66 Convention

WOW, how time flies. I was out here looking at my page and noticed that it has been 10 months since I posted something on this site. Life has been way too busy. I can sum up the last 8 months of my life: www.bounceradio.net. My last post was talking about my show and shortly after that post I was afforded the opportunity to own bounceradio.net.This is a great station with many talented people. I hope you get the chance to check it out.

Since this is a Route 66 site though, I wont go… Continue

New Radio Show

Many of you probably do not know that I used to work in the broadcasting industry. I was employed by several different radio stations in the Kansas City market. I started at my College station KRC (The Rock of Rockhurst College). I then interned for and was eventually employed by KCMO-AM (when it was on 810) and KCPW-FM (Power 95) which became KCMO-FM (Oldies 95) while I was there. I went on to work for KNHN-AM, a CNN news/talk outlet where I… Continue

Illinois Trip Report 7/20 – 7/22 Part 2

Sorry it took so long to get this out. Life has become very busy around the house,

as I have taken on a radio show.

Another post will detail the radio show, but here is part two of the

Illinois trip report .

OK on to Atlanta and Bunyon’s statue, all the murals (though Cuba, MO is still the best when it comes to building murals) and a graceful 91-year-old lady at the Atlanta library/museum. She…

Illinois Trip Report 7/20 – 7/22 Part 1

I will apologize right here and now since this will likely

be a longer post. In fact I am going to post the entire report in two segments

so you don’t have to spend an hour reading this.

Part 1:

Well, what was supposed to be a one-day adventure through a good chunk of the state of Illinois ended up being a one-day event with a return and some extra stops over three days. Attempting to go from Odell…

Hi John,

I passed Kansas yesterday. I also bought a new photobook on Route 66 to see more things. I could not see or find everything... But that is okay.
I am in Oklahoma now near Miami. I will continue my trip in the next few minutes. I just woke up. :-)))

Nice to hear from Maddie that you both are back home in Kansas.

It should rain these days. I hope I will be fine.

Hi John,

yeah it was sooo nice to meet you and your wife in Litchfield. I had a wonderful evening. I wished I could meet more people like you, your wife, Joe and Woody. If I had not met you there, I would have left Litchfield earlier. I did not know anyone there so.

Take good care! And I also hope to stay in touch with you guys.

Route 66 forever ;-)
PS. I am going to visit the Meramec Caverns tomorrow morning.
