Hi Rodger, Happy New Year!

Yes, got your voice message and that's the reason for me signing up here, to say hi back. Regarding your banquet in February, not sure yet that I can attend, but will consider it. Tell me more about it will ya?

Hey... remember that cute girl at the DeKalb GWRRA meeting? Well.... hehe... I am not only dating her, but living with her as well! We have really hit it off well.

Thank you for your response. Approximately how long does the journey last, although I should be retired, I am not and I will have to budget my time. Thanks.

Good Day. I am Michael Anderson and I am interested in making the journey along Route 66 in my 1967 Mustang. I would like to join a group that will be traveling the route in 2010. It is my understanding that you are a member of a group that will be doing this, if so, I would like some information on joinging. Thank you for any information.

To good possibilities... Favoriate is the Kentwood Arms Hotel in downtown on Rt. 66. Was a 5 star in it's day. Univewrsity has it now as dorm. They have dining hall for students along with lots of parking. I'm working on it. Also, Ryans has a place on rt. 66 as we enter Sgf. it is next to an old motel (still operating) This can be a sure thing if we want it to be. Ryan's has a buffet (only) for lunch so could feed us all rather quickly. I'll report more in a few days.

Don't feel bad about it, Roger. No big deal. I was hiking with my family, slipped on wet rocks and hit the back of my head on a bolder. Ended up with a sub-dural hematoma, air-lifted from southern Illinois to Barnes in St. Louis and in ICU for several days. I've been home recuperating for a month, and am now in the office about 3 days a week. Doctors don't think there will be long-lasting effects, but expect recovering to be slow. My main problem now is being tired a lot. And when I get tired the other symptoms are more pronounced -- headache, dizziness, balance. Taste and smell is affected, but is improving a little bit.

Obviously my travel this summer will be limited. I can't drive long distances (more than back and forth to work). I'm lucky to have 2 sons who can drive for me when necessary. My oldest son, Wade, enjoys traveling the road with me. I have the added benefit that he is a GREAT photographer and will use his ability to add to our photo library as we travel along the road.

The Sept. 5 party sounds fun. I'm putting it on my calendar. What time?

Hey Dude...

I left a message for you in anothr location, but I am not sure it will get to you. Anyway, it looks like we will have a Sheriff's escort (Motorcycles) through Greene Sounty and Springfield. I am going to meet with the Sheriff in the next 10 days to go over more details. Now all I have to do is find a place to eat.

That was cute. I've been watching your emails. I may try to see you off this year, if that's what you're asking.

I had an accident recently and am still recuperating. I'm in the office about 3 days a week and work from home the other 2. My travel is a little restricted.

Rodger,
Thanks for the invite for the Ride for Relay in Sept. I will check and see when you'll be in Springfield. I work 1 building off the 9th st alignment in Springfield just West of Watt Bros. Pharmacy and drive it nearly everyday.

Welcome to the site fellow Illinoisian. I'm just a stones throw over in Springfield. Good luck with the ride & raising more awareness of the mother road and cancer research.
