Carl,
I'm leaving Santa Monica heading to Chicago starting July 6. I'll be riding my '03 Road King Classic. I'll let you know any tips after the trip. But for now, internet research, maps and books are the best way to plan.

(Portland, Oregon)
I've been teaching acting and theater for over 30 years and look forward to retirement in a year or two so I can ride my Road King year-round instead of only in the summer.
My plans for this summer's ride will be to ride from Portland, Or, to the Pacific Coast down to Santa Monica and then ride the Mother Road to Chicago on the Road King. After a niece's wedding in Iowa, I'll head back home through Sturgis for the bike rally, Estes Park and the Rockies and finally across Utah to Bonneville where I'll turn Northwest and head home.

List Of My Favorite Route 66 Places
I'll tell you after my trip this July. My dad used to work for Sunoco/DX, and a good friend restores gas pumps and service station memorabilia, so I'm looking forward to the many gas stations along the way.

Hey Rick,
I love talking with and meting all roadies. I won't be able 2 make it to the festival in Flagstaff this year. When you figure out the dates of your trip be sure and let me know. I donate my time at Afton Station in Afton , OK on
Saturday or Sunday so it would help if you could make it around those days.

Rick,
Thanks for the order, will get it in the mail to you tomorrow. Spent yesterday in Amarillo & ten days in the Dallas area from the 9th to the 18th visiting friends and family and attending training courses for XEDIA. Anyone can check it out at: www.myxedia.com/crocodile.
Anyone who rides is a friend as you know. That road trip sounds great highway1 and 101 down to La man i'm on a speed triple riding it in my head right now.Make sure you meet up with Croc we just missed him last year which was a great shame.Safe riding Mark.
Rick,
If you have not used Doc Baileys leather conditioner on your leather you owe it to yourself to give it a shot. I have been using it for 18 years and selling it for 8. There is nothing as good as it anywhere. Looking forward to riding some of 66 with you,
croc
Rick, The 55' is a 3100 stepside pickup left to me by my dad. It's being completely restored. Please check out joeloesch.com for more interesting voice-over info? Hope to run into you sometime.
Hey Rick,
Looks as if tou have a fantastic trip planned this year. Hope I can meet you on the road & ride a ways with you. I plan to be on 66 with David Wickline the latter part of June and it looks as if you will be on 66 in July. Give me a little lead time and I will send you my phone numbers as they may change when we move to Amarillo early spring.
Best wishes & ride safe,
croc
Hey Rick, Thanks for joining us! David Sanger is the drummer for Asleep at The Wheel. I sell his music and he sells mine. He's a member here if you'd like to drop him a note? Happy New Year Rick! Stay healthy so you can do a lot of riding.
