Hi Markus:
Good to hear from you. We were at the preservation summit today and it was very informative. About 20 people showed up for the summit. It sounds like the Route 66 Alliance is a go. They can now start fund raising. Tomorrow we are going out to help clean up the Twin Arrows site. Weed pulling and some fence painting. No work on the buildings at this time. The arrows have been restored and look great in the pictures I saw on Ron's site. I am sure this site will be back working in the future. Sean Evans and the University of Northern Arizona opened a new Route 66 Exhibit at the Cline Library. Attended the opening after the summit. Good food! Her is a link to the exhibits web site:

Hope everything is well. Keep in touch. I will be putting pictures on our web site when I return home. (www.route66.ca) Some time next week.

Let me add my WELCOME to the group. This is a great group of people and I'm glad you decided to join. As you might guess from my photo, I ride the Mother Road more than I drive it. My grandparent met in Seligman and I ride there quite often. My mother was born on Route 66 in Flagstaff and I guess that makes riding the road more special. I very fortunate to be living in Arizona where I can ride all year. I'll hope to get the chance to meet you at one of the events.

The Road Crew in Joplin! Aug 2013

The Road Crew - America's Route 66 Band will be the opening act for the International Route 66 Festival this year! We'll be playing on Main Street in Galena, Friday evening at 6pm and on Main Street Joplin Saturday night at 7:30. We will also add a mini-concert to this list at Afton Staion at 1pm Sunday afternoon. Hope to see you guys August 2nd thru the 4th, 2013!
