I'm the owner of Afton Station in Afton, OK, a small Route 66 welcome center and museum and a vintage car museum which houses our 20+ Packards and other old vehicles. I also collect Route 66 memorabilia, particularly postcards.

Wow, so many! I know I'll forget many of my favorites, but just for starters I love the Blue Whale in Catoosa OK, the Cozy Dog in Springfield IL, Eisler Brothers in Riverton KS, The Munger Moss Motel in Lebanon MO, the Four Women on the Route in Galena KS, the whole city of Tulsa OK, all of the panhandle of TX, Tucumcari NM, the CA desert, and on and on and on.....
Hi Laurel, Glad you liked the photos that I shot when we visited in November 08. I was pleased that you used some of them on your blog. Hope to see you again when we visit Oklahoma.
Best regards, Doug & Sue
The Road Crew - America's Route 66 Band was the opening act for the International Route 66 Festival, August 2-3. Performed on Main Street in Galena, Friday and on Main Street in Joplin Saturday night. Performed for over 15,000 people in Joplin! Their mini-concert at Afton Station that Sunday afternoon was a big hit with visitors. We had a great time on Route 66! Hoping to see everyone in Kingman next year!
