I read your page and I was born in Ventura and grew up in Downey, CA. Moved to the Houston area in 1990 with Unocal.
We are heading out west next month to visit friends and then up the coast to Eureka and Salem. Our son is moving to Salem so we thought we might buy a place for us to stay in when we visit. Maybe yes or not. Then to Mt Rushmore and the badlands.
Almost everyone is gone. My son, his wife and baby are living with us until he finishes his residency and heads to Salem Oregon at the end of the year. My youngest son went to UNT for his doctorate and we used to go to see the Rangers play. Last time in the Dallas area was to stop on our way to Tulsa.
We live in Arlington, not too far from the new Cowboys stadium, a couple of hours from the nearest 66. Are your grandkids still with you or have they gone back? Enjoy the cooler weather! Peter
