Hey Rob, I know Williams is only 35 miles from Flagstaff, but you can easily spend a half day or an entire day in each city. My favorite hotel in Williams is the Historic Grand Canyon Hotel. Aside from Williams being the last Route 66 town to be byp…

Hi Rob, as one of the lucky people who travel the Mother Road very often, I too love the stretch from Ash Fork to Needles. I travel it the most since I live only 40 mies away from it and just love to ride my bike all the time. I'm also lucky since I have my roots on Route 66 with my mom being born in Flagstaff (I ride up there often too). Welcome along for the ride!

United States of America
About Me:
I am very passionate about my hobbies and interests which include astronomy, baseball, guitars, music, and traveling -- especially exploring Route 66. I teach seventh-grade mathematics and I am nearing the completion of my Ph.D. I love working with 12-year-old children and having my summers off which allows me to travel.
Favorite Music:
My tastes in music are very eclectic and the type of music I listen to on any given day depends on my mood. I love the artists from Sun Studio in Memphis, TN such as Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, and Charlie Rich. Besides rockabilly, I also love progressive rock, southern rock, classic rock, country, the blues, pop, and vocals.
List Of My Favorite Route 66 Places
Some of my favorite parts of Route 66 include (1) the stretch of road around Devil's Elbow and Hooker's Cut in Missouri; (2) the stretch of road from El Reno to Lucille's in Oklahoma; and (3) the stretch of road from Ash Fork to Topock in Arizona.
