Hello!
My name is Candra Casmon and I’m a map librarian at the Illinois State Library in Springfield, Illinois. I’m writing to let you know about our new on-line collection of Illinois highway maps produced by the Secretary of State’s office. The Illinois State Library is a division of the Secretary of State’s office, which is why road maps produced exclusively by the Illinois Department of Transportation and it’s predecessors are not included. The maps were all scanned at 400 dpi (including verso) and the files are in JPEG2000 format. The maps cover the entire lifespan of Route 66 in Illinois. Please contact me if you are interested in full resolution copies of these files, either the JPEGs or the raw TIFs, or if you have any other questions.
