International Route 66 Festival 2013 - Joplin! Missouri

The International Route 66 Festival is an annual event celebrating the historic road that runs from Chicago, IL to Santa Monica, CA. The festival is held in a different location on Route 66 each year. Visitors can talk with famous Route 66 authors and artists who are dedicated to preserving the Road through their work. A Car Show, showcases well preserved and restored vehicles from the past 100 years. This year's International Route 66 Festival is scheduled for Joplin, MO, August 2nd thru 4th. A must do for 2013!

The Bobby Troup Artistic Recognition Award goes to The Road Crew!

The Road Crew performed as the Route 66 official musical ambassadors for the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival in Springfield, MO, August 11, 2012!

The band enjoys its membership in the Missouri Route 66 Association.

The International Route 66 Association awarded The Road Crew with the Bobby Troup Award of Artistic Recognition! The band has had a presence on The Mother Road with their music and audiobooks all about Route 66 for several years now. "It's overwhelming to be recognized by the people you love so much" said Joe Loesch of The Road Crew. The award was personally presented by Bob 'Croc' Lile and Michael Wallis at the Deep In The Heart of Route 66 festival in Amarillo.

The Road Crew gears up for another Route 66 adventure

This past weekend my wife, Lori and I added a day to a business trip to Chicago so we could drive to Joliet on 66. Lori has done parts of 66 with me but not this stretch. After brunch at Lou Mitchell's, we headed out for Joliet. Lot's of interesting sights along the way, but I think the big thrill for me was to see my band's CD on sale at the Joliet gift shop. Just got my American Iron Magazine in the mail today. They printedmy story about me beating cancer and getting back on one of my favoriterides, cruizing  down The Famous Route 66! They also added this pictureof my Harley parked next to The Big Round Barn in Arcadia, OK.     After beating Cancer I was very proud, but also very humble to seemy bike in the magazine and also on this site.     The Road Crew in Joplin! Aug 2013

    The Road Crew - America's Route 66 Band will be the opening act for the International Route 66 Festival this year! We'll be playing on Main Street in Galena, Friday evening at 6pm and on Main Street Joplin Saturday night at 7:30. We will also add a mini-concert to this list at Afton Staion at 1pm Sunday afternoon. Hope to see you guys August 2nd thru the 4th, 2013!
