The Bobby Troup Artistic Recognition Award goes to The Road Crew!

See The Road Crew this summer as they headline the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival in Springfield, MO, August 11, 2012!

The band enjoys its membership in the Missouri Route 66 Association.

The International Route 66 Association awarded The Road Crew with the Bobby Troup Award of Artistic Recognition! The band has had a presence on The Mother Road with their music and audiobooks all about Route 66 for several years now. "It's overwhelming to be recognized by the people you love so much" said Joe Loesch of The Road Crew. The award was presented by Bob 'Croc' Lile at the Deep In The Heart of Route 66 festival in Amarillo last month.

Elaine greeted us and spoke of the sights to see nearby. There was another couple visiting the gift shop, Paul and Sandy from Mt.… Continue

An apology and a few updates

First, I would like to apologize for the long delay in updates, posts, and contributions. There are a litany of excuses but no justification. So, let me bring you up to date. With the exception of evaluating the galley proofs, the Route 66 Encyclopedia is finished. The official debut will be in October at Cuba Fest in Cuba, Missouri. Thanks to the gracious contributions of Steve Rider, Mike Ward, and Joe Sonderman, I am quite confident that this work will be a wonderful visual history of our…See More
